INDIANAPOLIS - A hazardous materials crew was sent to an Indianapolis medical center late Wednesday morning after white powder was found in an envelope that was later determined to be sugar.
The incident was reported just before 11 a.m. at the Richard L. Roudebush VA Medical Center at 1481 W. 10th St. when an unidentified patient showed up with an envelope containing a white substance.
The patient turned the envelope over to a doctor and voiced his concerns about its contents.
The Indianapolis Fire Department dispatched a crew to check out the report.
There were no evacuations, and services continued.
