INDIANAPOLIS -- A man was killed in a double shooting Tuesday morning on Indianapolis' east side.

The shooting happened at about 1:30 a.m., near the intersection of 21st Street and Post Road.

The two victims were found at a parking lot near a closed Marsh store. A spokesperson with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said when officers arrived, they found a man shot multiple times and a woman shot in the foot.

Both victims were taken to Eskenazi Hospital, with the man in critical condition. The man died a few hours later. He was identified by the Marion County Coroner's Office as Delmar Harrell, 24.

Police believe the two were together, but do not know their relationship.

Tuesday morning's shooting is near the same spot as a double shooting from January 2017. In that incident, two employees with Jordan's Fish and Chips were killed.
