LAWRENCE, Ind. – A group of suspects were caught on camera breaking into homes and cars in Lawrence this week.

People living in the Winding Ridge Subdivision said several items were stolen like weedwhackers, lawn mowers, leaf blowers and more.

"I went in to get my weedwhacker and it was gone and my clippers from my hedges was gone and the blower was gone,” said Bob Root.

Neighbors organized a community watch program and have started using tools like Facebook and Nextdoor to keep in contact with one another.

“Getting our items back that's secondary,” said Ken Chambers. “Getting our peace of mind back is primary. That's our goal.”

Those with information on this incident should call Crime Stoppers at (317) 262-TIPS.
