PUTNAM COUNTY, Ind. -- A routine traffic stop on I-70 in Putnam County ended Wednesday with the seizure of an estimated $337,000-worth of marijuana.

An Indiana State Police trooper stopped a 2017 Toyota Avalon for speeding around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday near the 35-mile marker on I-70.

According to state police, during the conversation with the driver, the trooper determined a search of the vehicle was warranted.

Inside the vehicle, the trooper reportedly found multiple large duffel bags containing approximately 75 pounds of marijuana and 300 vials of suspected marijuana oil.

Police said the estimated street value of the marijuana was $337,000. The marijuana oil is estimated to be worth $16,500.

The driver of the vehicle, 21-year-old Thomas Lee King of Colorado Springs, Colorado, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana over 10 pounds, dealing marijuana over 10 pounds, possession of a controlled substance, and operating while intoxicated.

Police said they believe he was traveling to Ohio at the time of his arrest.
