INDIANAPOLIS -- A man wanted for questioning in the rape and murder of an elderly Kentucky woman was arrested in Tennessee this week.

Dwight Bell, 41, was found in the Dandridge, Tenn. area and arrested on preliminary charges of theft.

Police said Bell is a suspect in the rape and murder of Ruthie Carolyn.

In August, Indianapolis police asked for the public’s help in locating Bell as he was seen in at the Shapiro’s Restaurant on South Meridian Street and also at a Speedway gas station.

Bell also had an open warrant for his arrest for failure to appear in court stemming from a separate strangulation charge issued out of New Castle, Indiana.
