INDIANAPOLIS -- An Uber driver told police two women and a man forced him to drive to a bank at knifepoint early Monday morning, and then stole his car while he was calling for help.

The driver, 55-year-old Rick Coughlin, told police he received a call for an Uber ride around 4:30 a.m. Monday.

When Coughlin arrived, a man and two women, one of whom was armed with a knife, entered his car and ordered him to go to a bank and give them his money.

Coughlin said he drove to the Chase Bank near 16th and Pierson streets on the near-north side.

While at the bank and trying to call for help, Coughlin said the three suspects drove off in his car, a gray 2012 Chevy Impala.

A detailed description of the suspects wasn’t available, although Coughlin told police the woman with the knife identified herself as “Donna.”

Coughlin was not injured during the robbery.

The suspects are wanted on preliminary charges of robbery and auto theft.

If you have any information about this incident, you’re asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 317-262-TIPS.
