INDIANAPOLIS - Tens of thousands of people gathered on Monument Circle downtown Friday night for the 50th annual Circle of Lights ceremony.
The ceremonial lighting of the city's tallest Christmas tree is a holiday tradition in the Circle City.
RTV6 meteorologist Kevin Gregory hosted the event, introducing live entertainers and even Santa himself.
Briyle Schmitz won a coloring contest to earn the honor of flipping the switch to light the monument.
The Circle of Lights was presented by the contractors of Quality Connection and the electrical workers of IBEW Local 481.
