INDIANAPOLIS – The Crown Hill neighborhood and Indianapolis Ten Point Coalition celebrated 300 days without a homicide on Friday.

Crown Hill was listed as the 17th most dangerous neighborhood in the country in 2013.

In 2015, the neighborhood had nine homicides, but so far in 2016, they have seen none.

The Ten Point Coalition patrols this community.

“Special thanks to IMPD, churches, the neighborhood association, and the residents of Crown Hill. Working together works! To God be the glory,” said Rev. Charles Harrison of the Ten Point Coalition.

The community celebrated the accomplishment in the parking lot of James Whitcomb Riley School 43 Friday evening.

"Look how far they have come because the community decided to stand up against the violence and make a difference," said Harrison.

Ten Point Coalition also patrols the Butler-Tarkington and United Northwest Area neighborhoods.

These areas have gone 300 days without a youth homicide.
