FRANKLIN, Ind. - An Indianapolis man and his 6-year-old daughter were injured Tuesday when their car ran into a tractor-trailer.
Police said John Nims, 33, of Indianapolis, was driving southbound on U.S. 31 when he struck the semi, which was backing into a drive to drop off lumber at a building site.
Nims had to be extracted from his vehicle before being flown to an Indianapolis hospital.
Nims' 6-year-old daughter, who was riding in the back seat, was taken to Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin with minor injuries.
Police said Nims was cited because his daughter was not properly restrained.
