Dad: Daughter was friend with man charged in death

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Police have arrested a man in connection with the decades-old cold case murder of a LaPorte teenager.
Rayna Rison, 16, was reported missing by her father in March of 1993 after locking up at an animal hospital where she worked in LaPorte, about 25 miles west of South Bend.
Rison's body was found in a pond about a month later, and the autopsy results led investigators to rule her death a homicide.
Indiana State Police announced Friday that Jason Tibbs, 38, of LaPorte, was arrested in connection with the case.
Ben Rison, Rayna's father, told The Associated Press on Friday that he didn't want to say much about Tibbs because he wasn't sure what authorities would want him to reveal.
Rison did tell the AP that his daughter was friends in middle school with the man now charged with her death.
Police said any more information would come from the LaPorte County prosecutor's office. The AP left a message seeking comment from prosecutors.
Tibbs is jailed without bond. Court records don't list an attorney for the LaPorte resident.
