INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- Little ones can be some of the most vulnerable during these hot summer days.

That's why Day Early Learning is making sure they stay cool.

While playing outside, they provide water for the kids to drink and play in.

When the mercury rises above 90 degrees, they keep everyone inside.

"We check the temperature probably 3 times a day, just to see where it's at. It might feel one thing outside to us, so we can check to see what the heat index is, and we consider activities we could be doing inside instead of out, and what we do to help them keep cool," said Amy Cavin, Center Director at Day Early Learning.

Teachers are also trained to look for signs of over heating, which include flushed skin and excessive sweating.
