MUNCIE, Ind. -- A man was arrested outside Muncie Central High School with ten knives strapped to his body on Wednesday, according to police.

Muncie police say Thomas Owens, 18, was arrested outside the school shortly after classes let out by a school security officer who is also a Muncie Police Department officer. Owens is not a student at the school.

The officer found ten knives strapped to Owens' body that were hidden by his coat.

Owens told police that he was meeting someone at the school and he always carries knives. Police say there is no evidence that Owens intended to hurt anyone.

He is currently facing ten counts of possession of a knife on school property and trespassing.
