MUNCIE, Ind. -- Muncie Animal Care and Services welcomed six dogs from Florida following Hurricane Irma.

The shelter is one of many across the U.S. including the Humane Society of Indianapolis that has taken in dogs from areas affected by Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma.

Thursday morning six dogs arrived in Muncie after the long trek from Tampa, Florida.

The shelter says the dogs are settling in right now and will be up for adoption soon.
