INDIANAPOLIS - Indianapolis spent more than $2 million on snow removal from Christmas Eve to Jan. 3, according to the Department of Public Works.
DPW estimates put the total cost just over $2.4 million, including $403,000 in labor costs and more than $1 million in salt costs.
The $2.4 million total also factored in equipment costs, overtime hours and contractor costs.
The DPW said workers plowed and salted more than 6,000 lane miles of city streets and an additional 4,000 lane miles of residential streets.
