INDIANAPOLIS – Dining out at your favorite restaurant could have more perks than delicious flavors. This Thursday, restaurants across the city will donate part of their sales to help fight the spread of HIV.

Dining out for Life includes more than 50 restaurants that will donate either 25 percent or 50 percent of their sales to The Damien Center.

Owner of Hoaglin to Go, Jeanette Sawi, said the fact that 11 million Hoosiers are impacted by HIV is enough to get her involved.

“Just the entire experience is overwhelming because you have people attending because they knew somebody, or know somebody or ARE somebody that's affected by AIDS and HIV,” said Sawi.

Participating restaurants like Greek Islands and Delicia, will donate sales during specified breakfast, lunch and dinner times.

“Now we know that it's possible to keep people with HIV healthy enough where they never have to get AIDS. We can end AIDS as long as we make sure clients not only have access to health care but also the kind of support services they need to be successful," said Jeremy Turner, development director at The Damien Center.
