OWEN COUNTY, Ind. -- Divers recovered the body of a woman who went missing under the water at Cataract Falls in Owen County on Monday.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources District 5 posted to its Facebook page around 2:00 p.m. Monday that Indiana conservation officer divers had been called to Cataract Falls.

The woman, 33-year-old Autumn McReery of Edgewood, Indiana, reportedly disappeared under the surface of the water at the recreation area and didn't resurface.

DNR officials posted an update around 4:00 p.m. that the woman's body had been recovered. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Conservation Officer Nathan Lutz said McReery had been hanging out at the falls with friends when she apparently went swimming in a no-swimming area.

McReery had reportedly been drinking at the time she went under the water.

Rescuers performed CPR, but were unable to revive McReery.

An autopsy was scheduled for Tuesday.

The woman's identity was not immediately released.

Cataract Falls is located in northern Owen County. It's part of the Lieber State Recreation Area.
