FISHERS, Ind. - A woman was hospitalized Sunday after flipping her SUV into a Fishers creek, police said.

The woman was turning from 106th Street onto Hauge Road when she went too wide and lost control of her Mercedes, hitting a bridge railing and crashing into the creek below, police said.

A Fishers police officer arrived quickly and was able to break the driver's side window to keep the woman's head out of the water, police said.

The woman had to be cut out of the vehicle by firefighters.

She was taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injures, police said.

No one else was injured.
