Driver, passenger caught after crashing car into home

IFD: No residents injured

INDIANAPOLIS - Nobody was injured when a car crashed into a home on the city’s northeast side early Wednesday morning.

An Oldsmobile 98 hit the home at the corner of Helmsdale Drive and Brunson Run around 4:30 a.m., officials with the Indianapolis Fire Department said.

Residents told officials they could feel the impact of the car hitting the home. The driver and passenger of the Oldsmobile attempted to flee the scene, IFD said.

Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department were able to catch the driver and passenger.

The homeowners told IFD that the room impacted was their son’s room until he moved out two months ago.
