INDIANAPOLIS -- Although it's nothing new, many drivers still have trouble navigating Fall Creek Parkway's reversible center lane.

The purpose of the reversible center lane is to help drivers get in and out of the downtown area at different parts of the day. But to drivers visiting the area, it can be confusing. For those trying to turn left, it can even be dangerous.

The Department of Public Works maintains the signals on Fall Creek and can charge the lanes at different times depending on peak traffic hours.

There is a safety feature in place to prevent an arrow appearing on the center lane in the northbound and southbound directions at the same time.

IMPD says center lane violations aren't particularly common, but illegal turns are.

Your best bet, according to police? Pay attention, and stay off your cellphone.
