INDIANAPOLIS --  More than 60,000 visitors are expected to drum up excitement in Indianapolis this weekend.

The Drum Corps International World Championship Finals is taking place Thursday-Saturday.

Organizers say this weekend will be a spectacular finish to a summer tour that's seen record-breaking attendance.

The competition concludes a series of over 110 events held since June while also marking the end of a memorable journey for thousands of young musicians and performers.

More than 35 of the world's most elite marching ensembles -- that's about 5,600 performers -- will be at Lucas Oil Stadium during the weekend as they try to get the world championship title.

The preliminaries kick off at Lucas Oil Stadium Thursday.

Tickets are between $29 and $59, depending on the section.

Friday at 2 p.m., it's on to the semi-finals, where the last 25 teams will battle it out on the field.

On Saturday the Soundsport International Music and Food Festival takes place with drumline battles and other performances. It will be along the Pan Am Plaza with food trucks on hand for fans.
