CLAY COUNTY, Ind. - A food delivery truck driver was cited Thursday after dozens of broken eggs were found to have contaminated other food, police said.
Indiana State Police stopped a refrigerated food truck on Interstate 70 in Clay County late Thursday morning, find 40 dozen eggs broken eggs that had covered the floor of the truck with yolk.
"Lying in the yolk were approximately five pounds of mushrooms and 10 pounds of broccoli," Sgt. Joe Watts said in a news release.
The mushrooms and broccoli was seized and destroyed. Other meats and vegetables in the truck were allowed to stay.
Dong Xie, 40, of Fontana, Calif., was cited and released. Xie was driving an Eternal Trading Corp., and the truck was headed to restaurants in Terre Haute, police said.
