GOSHEN, Ind. - A former police officer in Goshen fatally shot his ex-girlfriend and then himself early Monday morning, police said.
Officers found Eric Haitsma, 51, and Millicent Morros, 48, dead in a parking lot.
Haitsma had resigned from the police force in 1998 to operate his own landscaping business after he spent eight years with the department, police said.
Co-workers told ABC57 in South Bend that Morros was on her way to work across the street from where she was gunned down.
A neighbor told the TV station that she'd previously overheard Haitsma and Morros arguing.
