EVANSVILLE, Ind. - D.J. Balentine scored 22 points, leading four players in double digits, as Evansville posted a 78-65 victory over Miami (OH) Saturday.
Balentine hit 6 of 15 from the field and went 9 of 12 from the line. Egidijus Mockevicius had 17 points with a game-high 13 rebounds and three blocks for the Aces (6-3). Duane Gibson scored 12 points and Blake Simmons had 10. The team sank 52 percent from the field and 72 percent from the line overall.
A Balentine 3-pointer got the Evansville on the board first. The Aces led by 10 at the break and by as many as 16 in the second period. The Redhawks came within six with 3:59 left but could not move closer thanks to a 6-point flurry from the field by Balentine in the final minutes.
Reggie Johnson scored a team-high 21 points and eight assists for the Redhawks (1-5).
