LAFAYETTE, Ind. -- Five members of a family from Kentucky were hospitalized after their SUV crashed on Interstate 65 in Tippecanoe County Sunday evening.

Police say Brian Malay, 41, was driving a black Toyota Sequoia SUV in the left lane of southbound I-65, near the 172 exit when he overcorrected trying to change lanes.

The SUV rolled several times, ejecting two children as it did so.

The two children ejected were taken to local hospitals in Lafayette. One of them was then sent to Riley Hospital with life-threatening injuries. A third child was also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Brian and his wife, Mary, were also hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police say wet pavement and high speeds contributed to the crash.
