INDIANAPOLIS - As Indiana Black Expo Summer Celebration hits a crescendo this weekend, the always-popular Music Heritage Festival took center stage.
The outdoor concert draws thousands of people every year and the American Legion Mall was packed Friday night.
Keith Sweat -- the headline act -- was a big draw, but many people who came out to the festival said the outdoor concert has simply become a tradition.
Joann Butler said she has been coming to the event for decades.
"It's just a great place to come, with your family and friends and have a really good time and hear really good music," Butler said.
Two other women said they have been coming to the Expo and the outdoor concert as long as they can remember. They said they always go to the same spot -- until this year -- but that didn’t get them down.
The crowd got what they came for -- a night to enjoy the music, to dance and to make new memories.
