INDIANAPOLIS - A parade planned to celebrate the Indiana Fever's WNBA championship has been canceled due to weather.
The parade was set to begin at noon on Monument Circle. Now a ceremony will be held in the entry pavilion of Bankers Life Fieldhouse starting at 12:30 p.m.
Fever officials, coach Lin Dun and players Tamika Catchings and Katie Douglas will speak at the event.
The Fever claimed Indianapolis’ first professional basketball championship since 1973 Sunday night with a 3-1 series win over the Minnesota Lynx in the best-of-five series.
