INDIANAPOLIS - The FBI is asking for help from the public to solve a case that could be connected to a small community in one of several states, including Indiana.
Officials are hoping to identify two men who may be able to provide details about the identity of a child victim in a sexual exploitation investigation.
The FBI released images of the men and details of their investigation on Tuesday.
Investigators said the first images of a child being photographed in sexually explicit positions were found in 10 years ago, in February 2003 and that they are still in circulation on child pornography forums online.
The FBI has pulled together some clues that may lead to those involved, including a picture of a yellow T-shirt with the outline of a basketball and the text "New Market Basketball."
That clue led investigators to probe organizations and communities with "New Market" in the name.
New Market is a small community and elementary school in Montgomery County in Indiana, but there are others across the country.
Officials are also checking New Market, Iowa, New Market, N.C., a New Market school in Maryland, along with New Market, Va. There is also a New Market Sports Camp in Virginia.
Other New Market elementary schools are in Alabama and Tennessee, and there is a New Market Township in Minnesota and Ohio.
The photos also depict a home with what appears to be yellow siding and an above-ground swimming pool.
If someone recognizes these locations or pictures, the FBI hopes wit will lead to the abused child.
One of the men is likely between ages 25 and 35, while the other is likely between ages 35 and 45.
"The FBI is seeking to find these individuals because it appears they have been in contact with the victim and can assist the FBI with identification efforts," the agency said in a news release.
Authorities asked anyone with information to call 800-CALL-FBI.
