INDIANAPOLIS - A fight broke out during the Arsenal Tech High School and Fort Wayne South football game Friday night.
An Indianapolis Public Schools spokesman said there was a triggering incident on the field, which prompted adults on the Tech side to come out to the field.
The incident escalated into a physical fight between many others from there, officials said.
IPS officers called for backup from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, and with their help, the fight was brought under control quickly.
School officials decided “emotions were too high” at that point to continue the game, so it was called.
IPS officials said no arrests were made and no injuries were reported as a result of the incident.
