Fire breaks out at Long Branch Saloon in Morristown

MORRISTOWN, Ind. - Shelby County firefighters say a fire at the Long Branch Saloon in Morristown is under control after nearly two hours battling flames Sunday night.

Authorities said more than 50 people were in the building, located at 158 E. Main Street, when the fire broke out. No injuries have been reported.

Firefighters worked to contain flames that had spread into the walls between the bar and an adjoining business, the Bluebird Restaurant. Eight fire departments had been called to assist with the fire.

At one point, fire crews were pulled out of the building after pieces of the roof began caving in on them. Three ladder trucks were moved in to fight the fire defensively.

Officials said the Bluebird Restaurant sustained smoke, fire and water damage.
