Fire breaks out in vacant northeast side home

INDIANAPOLIS - A fire on the northeast side brought IFD crews out into wintry conditions Thursday night.

Firefighters responded to smoke pouring from a home on the 3800 block of N. Pasadena Street just before 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

Officials said the residence was vacant. Firefighters got flames under control before they were able to spread to a nearby house.

Damage to the home is estimated at $20,000. Officials haven't determined how the fire was started.
