INDIANAPOLIS - A large fire destroyed a barn early Friday on the city's southeast side.
The fire was reported just before 6:30 a.m. near Mitthoeffer and Maze roads where crews worked to douse flames that engulfed a barn, Indianapolis Fire Department officials said.
More than 60 firefighters from Fairland, Sugar Creek, Moral Township and IFD battled the blaze for more than an hour. Lack of water in the area forced crews to rely on tankers, which was time consuming, officials said.
The fire caused more than $100,000 in damages and the cause remained under investigation.
The barn owners were not harmed.
