INDIANAPOLIS -
A fire damaged an apartment on the city’s south side early Sunday, Indianapolis Fire Department officials said.
About 7:30 a.m., crews were called to the 1400 block of East Grube Street at the Tuscan Pointe Apartments on reports of an apartment fire.
Firefighters gained control of the flames within 20 minutes, and six people escaped the apartment unharmed, officials said.
Detectives said smoke detectors inside the unit were working properly.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation.
