Fire reported at Indianapolis International Airport parking garage

Cause of fire under investigation

INDIANAPOLIS - Two cars burned inside the parking garage at the Indianapolis International Airport early Friday.

Firefighters were dispatched to the airport just after 5 a.m. on reports of a fire on the second level of the garage.

Airport spokesman Carlo Bertolini said a Chevrolet Impala caught fire and then the flames spread to an Audi sedan.

Crews said they were having a difficult time getting the fire under control, but once the flames were put out, smoke continued to spread throughout the garage.

The second and third floors were closed to traffic, but the garage reopened just before 6:30 a.m.

Bertolini said that no injuries were reported.
