Firefighters are investigating electrical issues as possible cause of Fishers fire

Officials: No definite cause determined

INDIANAPOLIS - Investigators are looking into electrical issues as a possible cause of a fire which destroyed three homes and damaged a fourth in Fishers Tuesday.

An initial report on the incident, released Wednesday, said the homeowners of the original residence which caught fire had reported electrical issues previously.

No definite cause or origin has been determined.

According to the report, homeowner Tony Ernsberger was working at his home on the 12000 block of Adirondack Court when he heard a smoke alarm going off. Ernsberger told fire officials he entered the hallway of his home, where he was met with heavy smoke and fire.

Ernsberger said he then grabbed his dog and immediately exited his home to call 911.

Approximately 65 firefighters from five area departments worked to battle the blaze, which moved from Ernsberger's home to two of his neighbors', and licked at the wall of a fourth.

Firefighters made forced entry into one home and rescued two dogs. No injuries were reported.

An investigation into the fire is underway.
