FISHERS, Ind. -- A Fishers police officer was arrested for battery after authorities say he was involved in a fight in Greenwood.
Fishers Police Chief Mitch Thompson was told shortly before midnight Saturday that Officer Charles Kingery had been arrested by the Greenwood Police Department.
Officers say Kingery and another man got into an argument and Kingery punched the man in the face.
Kingery was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Johnson County Jail.
Chief Thompson immediately suspended Kingery pending the outcome of an internal investigation.
Kingery has been with the Fishers Police Department since March 2014. He's assigned to the patrol division.
