FISHERS, Ind. - Two Fishers schools were put under a precautionary lockdown Tuesday afternoon due to police searching for a person involved in a burglary.
UPDATE: Authorities said that lockdown was lifted just after 2 p.m. and the threat was cleared.
Hamilton Southeastern School District confirmed to RTV6 just after 1:30 p.m. that Riverside Intermediate and Junior High schools (on the same campus) were put on lockdown due to police activity in the neighborhood.
Officials said school exterior doors are always locked, but they increased security there as a result of the Fishers Police Department search for a man who ran from officers after a burglary.
Police said officers set up a perimeter in the triangle-shaped area spanning from Allisonville Road to 106th Street, 106th to Eller Road, from Eller Road to 116th Street and 116th back to Allisonville.
