FISHERS, Ind. - Fishers Town Manager Scott Fadness has launched an exploratory committee to run for mayor when the town becomes a city, a spokesman said today.
Fishers, which has not previously had a mayor, voted in 2012 to convert into a second class city following a contentious referendum. The change is expected to happen in 2015.
“Becoming a city opens new doors of possibility for Fishers,” Fadness stated in a press release Monday. “I want to help lead our community as we strengthen our position as a city for businesses and families to grow.”
Fadness served as Fishers Deputy Town Manager from 2009 to 2011 and has served as Fishers Town Manager since March of 2011.
