Fishers woman killed, child injured in head-on crash with tractor-trailer

Lori Dennison, 38, pronounced dead at the scene

DEARBORN COUNTY, Ind. - A Fishers woman was killed and a 5-year-old boy in her van was injured Monday in a head-on crash with a tractor-trailer on State Road 1 in southeastern Indiana, Indiana State Police said.

The crash happened about 6 p.m. on S.R. 1 near Zimmer Road when a minivan in the northbound lane crossed the center line.

The van was struck head-on by a tractor-trailer, causing both vehicles to run off the road, ISP said.

The driver of the van, Lori Dennison, 38, of Fishers, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 5-year-old boy in the van was transported to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center in critical condition.

His relationship to Dennison was not immediately released.

The driver of the tractor-trailer, Natalie Paine, 54, of Ohio, suffered minor injuries, ISP said.

Detectives said they're still trying to determine what caused Dennison's van to cross the center lane.
