HENRY COUNTY, Ind. -- I-70 eastbound in Henry Co. was shut down for about three-and-a-half hours Sunday following a five vehicle crash that sent three people to the hospital.

The crash happened shortly before 1:30 p.m. in the construction zone at the Knightstown exit.

Troopers say four semis ran into each other. One of them then ran into a pickup truck.

One of the semi drivers had to be extricated. He was flown to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis with unknown injuries.

Two of the other semi drivers were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The fourth semi driver and the driver of the pickup were not hurt.

The interstate re-opened around 5 p.m.
