Foot and road traffic to grow in Indianapolis as Sweet 16 kicks off

INDIANAPOLIS - As college basketball teams and their fans flood the Circle City this week for March Madness, there's going to be an increased amount of people, traffic and overall fun.

The NCAA Division 1 Men's Regional Basketball Championships are in Indianapolis Thursday and Friday for the Sweet 16.

You can find schedules and information on when the teams play at Lucas Oil Stadium here.

No streets will be closed for these events, but watch for heavy traffic near the stadium around these times of open practices on Thursday:

• Noon - 12:50 p.m. - Tennessee Volunteers
• 1 - 1:50 p.m. - Kentucky Wildcats
• 2:10 - 3 p.m. - Michigan Wolverines
• 3:10 - 4 p.m. - Louisville Cardinals

All members of the public are invited to watch the teams practice, for free.

Just remember: Even if you're not going to watch or see the teams play, traffic will be more tedious near the stadium.
