INDIANAPOLIS -- A former Colts cheerleader turned her own frustrations and stresses while preparing to get married into an app to help other brides-to-be.

Christina and Matt Goebel celebrated a fairytale wedding at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in August 2013. But before their special day, they realized there is a lot more to planning a wedding than meets the eye.

"When I first got engage, you know, like most brides I didn't know where to start," Goebel said. "I was really overwhelmed and stressed."

Goebel was working full-time and also cheering for the Colts, so she went online to look for tools to help her plan.

"What I found is that it was really cluttered with ads and all these pop-ups," Goebel said. "I found myself having a checklist app, and I have my guest list on Excel, all my details were just in different places. I realized, why isn't there a tool out there that provides everything I need in one central location?"

With her husband and his software consulting team, Goebel's insight and a graphic designer, the "Plan the Day" app came to be.

The app is an online resource allowing couples to map out their entire wedding experience in one place.

The couple updates "Plan the Day" each month with new features and resources.

"Plan the Day" users can sign up for a 30-day free trial. After that, to avoid pop-ups and ads, users pay $9.95 a month or an $80 one-time fee.
