INDIANAPOLIS -- A former day care employee who was convicted of child pornography was sentenced to 27 years in prison Thursday by a U.S. judge.

Ali Al-Awadi, 22, was convicted of child pornography charges in February.

Al-Awadi worked at Children’s Choice Learning Center at St. Vincent Hospital. Prosecutors say Al-Awadi molested a 4-year-old girl and took explicit photos of her on his phone.

The girl testified at his trial that he fondled her.
