NORTH MANCHESTER, Ind. --  A former Manchester University student was arrested Monday for murder of an infant.

Authorities say Mikayla Munn, 21, of Elkhart, Ind., called 911 on March 8.

Emergency crews found Munn and the baby in a bath tub in her dorm room, and the baby wasn't breathing.

Both were taken to the hospital where the baby was pronounced dead.

North Manchester Police and the Indiana State Police started an investigation into the death of the baby due, they say, to inconsistent information.

Detectives developed enough probable cause for an arrest warrant to be issued for Munn.

The warrant alleges criminal charges for murder and neglect of a dependent causing death.

Munn was arrested at her Elkhart home and taken to the Elkhart County Jail.

A spokesperson for Manchester University says they will not comment on the particulars of the case.

"The University is fully cooperating with authorities as the process continues," said Dave McFadden, Manchester University President.
