INDIANAPOLIS - A former school administrator accused of child seduction appeared in court Tuesday morning.

John Maples, former chief operations officer for Wayne Township Schools, was charged last month with seven counts of child seduction stemming from allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a then-17-year-old student in 2010.

Maples' attorney said his client denies the allegations.

Last month, the Call 6 Investigators found that Maples was allowed to retire from the district in good standing and keep his retirement benefits.

Maples, 61, is set to appear in court again on Feb. 14.
