INDIANAPOLIS - Police said four people were wounded by gunfire late Saturday night while they were standing around on the city’s east side. No suspects have been named so far.
The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) said around 10:30 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to 5871 Village Plaza on a report of someone shot.
IMPD said officers found Darryl Frazier, 21, suffering from gunshot wounds to the back and right arm.
Frazier told officers he had been standing around with some friends and someone “just shot him.” He was taken to Wishard Hospital.
Officers also located two other victims – Randy Lawson, 40, and Hugo Acosta, 32 – who had also been shot, both in the right arm.
IMPD said they later learned of a fourth person who had been hit by the gunfire. Brentize Wright, 19, had been hit in the right calf and had already left the scene and gone to the hospital before police arrived.
A few vehicles also sustained damage from the gunfire, according to IMPD.
There is no word yet as to whether police have any suspects in mind, and no details yet on the condition of the victims.
