Hoosier Lottery officials hand out free Powerball tickets in Zionsville

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. - The Powerball fever sweeping the nation nearly hit the boiling point early Wednesday in Zionsville where dozens of Hoosiers lined up to get their hands on free lottery tickets.
Beginning at 6 a.m., 500 free tickets were handed out at the Village Pantry on 106 th Street and Michigan Road.
Hoosier Lottery spokesman Al Larsen said each person in line will be given one free ticket for a chance to win $500 million.
Ticket sales will go all day until the drawing at 9:58 p.m.
Officials say one winner could take home about $327 million after taxes.
Wednesday's drawing is expected to be the largest Powerball jackpot on record.
