INDIANAPOLIS - A fresh coat of snow created a slick commute for central Indiana drivers Monday morning.
Indiana Department of Transportation reported most of the roads along and north of Interstate 70 to be in fair condition. Drivers were advised to use caution and allow time for slower speeds.
Roads directly south of Indianapolis were reported to be in good condition, INDOT officials said.
Drivers were also warned of spots along snow-covered roads that appear to clear, but are actually black ice.
Monday's forecast included light snow showers and below-freezing temperatures which could create the same conditions during the evening commute.
