Funeral arrangements set for IMPD Officer Tim Day

INDIANAPOLIS - Funeral arrangements have been announced for the off-duty Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer who died of a heart attack last week.
Officer Timothy Day will be laid to rest Saturday Oct. 5.
A viewing will take place at Grace Missionary Baptist Church in the 1500 block of North College Avenue on Oct. 4.
The viewing will be from noon to 8 p.m. with an IMPD Flag Presentation at 2 p.m.
Day’s funeral will be on Saturday at the same church. Doors will open at 10 a.m. and services will begin at noon.
Day was a 26-year veteran of IMPD and was currently assigned to the Violent Crimes Unit.
Officer Day was nominated or received Certificates of Commendation, Honor Awards Certificate of Commendation, Unit Citations for the participation in the Violent Crimes Unit, Neighborhood Resource Officers and West District Narcotics, IMPD said.
