KOKOMO, Ind. - Near a rain soaked intersection of 300 South and Highland Springs Drive in Kokomo, people came to remember a 13-year-old.
They were Christian Reede's friends, family and neighbors.
Rose Costa's grandson died Friday, a day after someone turning into the Highland Springs subdivision hit him and another 13-year-old while they were riding on a moped.
Kokomo police say the person driving the white truck never stopped.
"I hope whoever did this will come forward and make things right," Costa said.
“He was my best friend and I can't believe this happened to him," said a teenager among the crowd of mourners. "He had the best heart in the world."
A viewing for Christian Reede will be held Wednesday from 3-7 p.m.at Shirley & Stout Funeral Home in Kokomo.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
Kokomo police are still searching for a white, late model Ford truck, with possible right front bumper damage in connection with the incident.
