Gary man in serious condition after being thrown off motorcycle in crash
Police: Driver wasn't wearing helmet

SOUTH BEND, Ind. - A Gary man was in critical condition Saturday night after being ejected from his motorcycle during a collision, police said.
An initial police report stated that Cecil Roach, 43, of Gary, was driving his Honda BR6 motorcycle westbound on I-94 near the 35-mile marker when it rear-ended a westbound Chevrolet Suburban.
The crash impact caused Roach to be ejected from the motorcycle. He struck the rear of the Suburban before landing on the road.
Roach was not wearing a helmet, police said.
Roach was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with severe head and facial injuries.
The Suburban was driven by Douglas Williams, 44, of Plainfield, Ill. Williams was not injured.
